IRLA is looking for a Campaign Manager!
Immigrants Are LA (IRLA) is a diverse, community-led Los Angeles County initiative launched by the Immigrant Integration Task Force (IITF), convened by the California Community Foundation (CCF), to build a just and equitable future for immigrants and Los Angeles.
CONSULTING OPPORTUNITY
The ideal candidate for Campaign Manager will have a role in all aspects of the coalition, with the primary responsibility for managing and supporting the coalition and implementing the campaign plan. Working closely with the Steering Committee, made up of representatives from six organizations (CAIR, CHIRLA, COFEM, IAC, PWC, TLC), and consultant Tzunu Strategies, the Manager monitors and advances all components of the coalition’s various campaigns, while identifying and addressing barriers along the way. Flexibility to act on emerging issues and rapid response needs is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In close partnership with the coalition’ Steering, Executive, and Fundraising Committees; Organizing, Communications, and Policy Subcommittees; and Tzunu Strategies:
Coalition Management
Co-lead the coalition’s strategic planning efforts, in partnership with Tzunu Strategies, by planning and facilitating strategic meetings and retreats and coordinating the development of governance documents and work plans that build coalition infrastructure and advance campaign objectives
Provide strategic direction and logistical support to all committees and subcommittees: Steering, Executive, and Fundraising Committees; Communications, Organizing, and Policy Subcommittees
Organize and maintain the email listserv of coalition members and document archives
Assist in onboarding process for new members through development of materials and facilitating introductory meetings
Partner Engagement
Develop and sustain strong, working relationships with CBOs, coalitions, funders, county officials etc. by serving as a point of contact and coordinating meetings
Provide facilitation and logistical support for internal and external meetings with CBOs, coalitions, funders, county officials etc.
Support the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person capacity building, mobilization, and other public-facing activities/events including trainings, webinars, press conferences, rallies, town halls, etc.
Collaborate with California Community Foundation to advance coalition’s fundraising efforts and participatory grantmaking strategy
Represent IRLA in coalition partner spaces including meetings, trainings, etc.
Content Development
Facilitate the development, creation, and dissemination of campaign materials/documents for internal and external communications use in partnership with the Communications Subcommittee and Tzunu Strategies (e.g. letters of support, presentations, fact sheets, talking points, toolkits etc.)
Coordinate the creation & dissemination of policy and budget analyses, briefs, reports, letters, and talking points in collaboration with the Policy Subcommittee and Tzunu Strategies
Draft and send weekly email newsletter to coalition covering upcoming meetings, actions, and report backs on campaign activity
Support Tzunu Strategies in development of coalition content (social media posts, videos, press releases, graphics, website updates etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional work groups
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to assess complex situations and communicate clearly and precisely
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to be self-motivated
Ability to write and think clearly, creatively, and critically in environments where it’s essential to clarify ambiguity, solve problems, and manage crises
Strong project management skills, including planning for content, gatherings, meeting deadlines
Experience planning events
Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, and conversations
Ability to work effectively and collaborate with diverse partners
Knowledge of Los Angeles County - county departments, Board of Supervisors, budget process, immigrant-serving CBOs
Familiarity with immigrant rights issues is an advantage
LENGTH OF CONTRACT AND COMPENSATION
One-year contract
Compensation: $90,000 total
Requires ability to work remotely but with some in-person commitments
